Twitter + F9 Film Release Partnership

Through Designerds, I supported the Twitter NEXT team — a specialized division of Twitter’s Global Brand Marketing, creating custom Twitter experiences for major movie and television releases in close collaboration with entertainment studios.

For the theatrical release of F9: The Fast Saga — marking 20 years since the original Fast & Furious film — Twitter NEXT partnered with Universal Pictures to deliver a first-of-its-kind, in-feed gamified experience: #F9ReadySetScroll, letting fans feel the thrill of racing with the Fast Family right on Twitter.

👉 I designed project pitch and retrospective decks for the collaboration, used to present early gamification ideas and later celebrate campaign results. I also built and animated the branded #ReadySetScroll Tweet experience that was central to the film’s social campaign.

20 years of the Fast franchise

Tweet Experience

#F9ReadySetScroll was a timing-based activation that tested users’ speed as they blazed through an obstacle-laden Twitter thread inspired by a heart-pounding action sequence from F9.

To start the timer, fans simply liked the CTA tweet, then scrolled to the bottom of the thread as fast as possible to like the final Tweet. After completion, users were sent an automatic response detailing their exact time.

This activation aimed to put fans in the driver’s seat with surprising gamified elements that subverted traditional platform behaviors, and encouraged users to scroll as fast as possible to get the best time.

The popularity of the F9 Twitter Scroller took off like a race car. Combining an innovative approach to interaction with personalized results, fans found themselves replaying the activity over and over again to improve their overall times.

With +41k unique racers, #F9ReadtSetScroll welcomed an additional +17k new members to the Fast Family.

Shorty Award Nominee

The #F9ReadySetScroll experience was nominated for a Shorty Award in the Gamification category. A recap sizzle video was produced by Universal Pictures as part of the Twitter x Universal submission, and features my promoted Tweets and animation work.
